Representatives of W4 Youth recently attended the Youth Opportunities Summit held at St James’ Palace hosted by His Majesty the King. The event on Tuesday 15 July was also attended by the Prime Minister, actor and activist Idris Elba, senior government officials, charities, and changemakers from across the UK. It brought together a coalition of those aiming to drive meaningful change for young people across the nation.

The event was a celebration of commitment and collaboration, with participants sharing insights and strategies which aim to ensure every child has the opportunity to feel safe, to belong, to learn, and to thrive. The W4 Youth representatives said that being part of such a g gathering was a moment of pride and affirmation.

Founded by Sally Chacatté, W4 Youth is a grassroots organisation based in West London, dedicated to empowering young people through inclusive, community-led programmes.

Speaking at the summit which she attended along with coach Darushan Ravikumar, Sally Chacatté said, “This was an incredible opportunity for W4 Youth to share our story and our views on the systemic changes we believe are necessary to keep all young people engaged in education and activities outside of school—a place where they can belong. We must reduce isolation and create safe, supportive environments that help prevent criminal activity and knife crime.”

W4 Youth continues to advocate for long-term investment in youth services and is currently working to establish a new community hub on Southfield Recreation Ground. This hub will serve as a safe space for young people to connect, learn, and grow—offering everything from creative workshops and mentoring to sports and mental health support.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
